In his third solo exhibition at Galerie Kai Hilgemann, painter Torsten Ruehle here presents a selection of his latest works. The spatial composition and the people in the works, shifted and compressed onto a black line, reveal a formally abstract perspective. The works, which at first glance appear static, are lent a peculiar oscillation due to the greatly reduced use of color. The painting "Narcosis," the central focus of the exhibition, transforms the saga of Echo and Narcissus from Ovid's Metamorphosis into the present time.
